Bigger than an Entertainer

Michael Jackson is inextricably the most loved artist around the world. He was much bigger than an entertainer. He did more than entertain. His creative work proceeded time and extended beyond popular. The title "Pop star" is too small for his ingenious and lacks the true creative depths and honor. Michael Jackson was a true artist in every sense of the word.

He carried a burden for humanity. (Not just because he is the world's biggest celebrity philanthropist sometimes donating entire proceeds from his concerts to a particular cause.) His creative goal was larger than to amuse, beguile, or entertain his audience. He went into artistic depths to sensitize and stimulate compassion among a world of people. His music touched souls of millions of people around the world. Why? He sang of Human Condition, Human Psyche, Human Nature, Human Struggles, and Human Behavior. His compassion for life was evident. (Even in how he sang about a rat called Ben.) His art made a connection and resonated with the human spirit all around the world. Michael Jackson improved the world through art and left the world better than how he found it.

In the documentary of what was to be his final concert tour "This Is It," we are able to see into the mind of a true artist, not just an entertainer. The comments below are dedicated to remembering lyrics, performances, or moments revealed in the documentary that testify to his true artistry and resonated with individuals on personal levels.

"Man In The Mirror"

I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .

As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Favorite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin' My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their Needs
A Summer's Disregard,
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man's Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya' Know
'Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
That's Why I Want You To
Know

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change

I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They're Not
Alone?

A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya' See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That's Why I'm Starting With
Me

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change

This entire song really speaks to me. These lyrics are about human nature and struggle. There are people in the world who struggle to survive, then there are people who either, ignore it, or choose to think that it doesn't exist. Michael Jackson is saying that inorder to make a change we need to start with ourselves and that we can make a change, even a little one, that could help someone else.
I was able to see "This is It", and I definately look at Michael Jackson differently. He put his heart and soul into everything that he did. He was dedicated and wanted every song and performance to have an impact on someone. His mind and spirit was seen in every scene of the movie. He wanted everything to be perfect and he knew that the show reflects him as a person, so he wanted it to be a picture of him by the means of a performance.

I would have to say that the song "Beat It" is a good song to listen to. he sung about basically get through the fight, avoid it and just beat it. the song shows the human struggle. and for the human nature, people are very violent, and the song speaking of breaking trough the violence.

"Beat It"

[1st Verse]
They Told Him Don't You Ever Come Around Here
Don't Wanna See Your Face, You Better Disappear
The Fire's In Their Eyes And Their Words Are Really Clear
So Beat It, Just Beat It

[2nd Verse]
You Better Run, You Better Do What You Can
Don't Wanna See No Blood, Don't Be A Macho Man
You Wanna Be Tough, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It

[3rd Verse]
They're Out To Get You, Better Leave While You Can
Don't Wanna Be A Boy, You Wanna Be A Man
You Wanna Stay Alive, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, Just Beat It

[4th Verse]
You Have To Show Them That You're Really Not Scared
You're Playin' With Your Life, This Ain't No Truth Or Dare
They'll Kick You, Then They Beat You,
Then They'll Tell You It's Fair
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

"They Don't Care About Us"

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Bang bang, shot dead
Everybody's gone mad

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Beat me, hate me
You can never break me
Will me, thrill me
You can never kill me
Jew me, Sue me
Everybody do me
Kick me, Kike me
Don't you black or white me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I am the victim of police brutality, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of hate
You're rapin' me of my pride
Oh, for God's sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy...
Set me free

These lyrics can sum up some of the things that have happen in my life. I don't like being put in a specific category. It seems by the lyrics that the song is personal to him. How people would take about him and call him all types of names.

Watching This Is It shows that Michael Jackson really cared about his music and wanted the fans to have a great experience at his shows. He seems as if he was a good people person who loved working with other people. He was mean to his musicians or the other people that was in the show. He even gives others their time to show in his concert. He still had all of the moves and the voice to handle the concerts.

One particular song I like is called “The Man in the Mirror”
“I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
I’ve been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It’s time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they’re not alone?”
Any life changing experience/behavior must start from oneself. We all know that change is hard and it is a struggle, but we must soldier through it because sometimes the change is the only way to make progress. We may deny the need for change or put it off just so we don’t have to deal with it, but we all have to face the truth sooner or later.

I think this is funny that you asked this question because as I watching this movie I was connecting all the lyrics of his songs to his struggle and the struggle of the people around the world. Most of all I connected with "Man in the Mirror". Michael talks about how he needs to start with himself and change the "Man in the Mirror" in order to really make a change in the world and that he did. He talks about how people need to open their hearts because if they close their hearts then they close their minds. This is one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs.

Ooh ooh ooh aah

Gonna make it right

This song too is about human nature and human struggle. It expresses human nature in saying that no matter how hard life gets it is human nature to want to triumph and push through and come out on top of things. The deeper meaning of the song to me mainly expresses a form of human struggle. Life is always gonna try to beat you down and not everybody in society is going to accept you, but you just have to try to prevail and "beat it". Michael Jackson also uses strong writing techniques throughout the song. The way he takes the phrase "beat it" and changes its definition from the beginning of the song to the end is pure genius. In the beginning he uses "beat it" in saying to get out and quit. In the end he uses it in that you need to conquer issues or problems and overcome them.

1. A lot of Michael Jackson’s songs demonstrate human struggle, condition, behavior, nature and human psyche. The song “Man In The Mirror” resonates to me on a personal level, and I think to many other people as well, because it deals with human struggle and nature. It is displayed for example in the following stanzas:

“I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change”

“I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They're Not
Alone?”

“A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya' See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That's Why I'm Starting With
Me”

The song reflects that people should be aware of the fact that there are people who suffer worse than others and who cannot easily change their living conditions without the help of others. People cannot expect things to become better when they don’t do anything to change it. And in order to make the world a better place you have to start with yourself; you cannot expect other people to change it. Only if you are willing to give, you can expect others to give, too. People ask themselves if they can do something to make it better and do not really believe in the fact that everyone can have a hand in enhancing human life. People have to realize that everyone can make a little change to help someone else and to make the world a better place.

2. I have seen Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” and was impressed as well as deeply moved by it. It definitely made me aware of the person and honored artist Michael Jackson and not only of the “product”. When you see all the personal moments of him, like the emotional way he feels his music, the gentle way he interacts with his team and the fact that he knows exactly what to do when during the show, makes you develop a higher appreciation of him, his music and his work in general. He wants everything to be perfect and honors his team members (e.g. musicians and singers) by giving them time to perform in his show.

Black Or White lyrics

"I Took My Baby
On A Saturday Bang
but Is That Girl With You
Yes We're One And The Same

Now I Believe In Miracles
And A Miracle
Has Happened Tonight

But, If
You're Thinkin'
About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

They Print My Message
In The Saturday Sun
I Had To Tell Them
I Ain't Second To None

And I Told About Equality
An It's True
Either You're Wrong
Or You're Right

But, If
You're Thinkin'
About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

I Am Tired Of This Devil
I Am Tired Of This Stuff
I Am Tired Of This Business
So When The
Going Gets Rough
I Ain't Scared Of
Your Brother
I Ain't Scared Of No Sheets
I Ain't Scared Of Nobody
Girl When The
Goin' Gets Mean

[L. T. B. Rap Performance]
Protection
For Gangs, Clubs
And Nations
Causing Grief In
Human Relations
It's A Turf War
On A Global Scale
I'd Rather Hear Both Sides
Of The Tale
See, It's Not About Races
Just Places
Faces
Where Your Blood
Comes From
Is Where Your Space Is
I've Seen The Bright
Get Duller
I'm Not Gonna Spend
My Life Being A Color

[Michael]
Don't Tell Me You Agree With Me
When I Saw You Kicking Dirt In My Eye

But, If
You're Thinkin' About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

I Said If
You're Thinkin' Of
Being My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

I Said If
You're Thinkin' Of
Being My Brother
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now
Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now

It's Black, It's White
It's Tough For You
To Get By
It's Black , It's White, Whoo

It's Black, It's White
It's Tough For You
To Get By
It's Black , It's White, Whoo"

As a little girl, this was my favorite MJ song. Of course, at 7 years old, I didn't really get the powerful message behind the words. As an adult who has gone out into the world, I can commiserate with what he was saying. There is a constant struggle for equality amongst mankind and we as human beings need to get over our prejudices and live as one. I think a lot of what MJ was trying to say in his music was that we are all one, regardless of what we look like or what we believe in, and I wholeheartedly agree.

It was really hard for me to watch "This Is It", being the typical 80's-90's kid who grew up in a house where MJ was always on the radio or on TV at some point. It feels like every single month of my life, there was something new to be said about him, but it was always revolving around his personal life. Aside from CD's and music videos, I never really got to know MJ the performer until that movie. I can really appreciate the way he's all for the music and how best to enhance it. I think my favorite part was when Orianthi was doing a guitar solo and she stopped quicker than Mike wanted her to and he actually told her, "Keep going, we're there with you." He actually wanted her to keep playing her guitar (she is a FABULOUS guitarist after all), to just have her own moment in the spotlight at his concert. I can really appreciate that coming from an artist as huge as he is; he never let his ego get in the way of the music.

I am aware that this song is not solely michael Jackson but it is truly on of my favorites and everytime i hear it i connect with it. It makes me appreciate more the people i have in my life and make me realize how they are there for me and how i need to do the same. This song was my all time favorite especially this summer and me and my friends would sing this together because in the end we know that we will always be there for each other.

I'll be there
You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love, I'll be there

I'll reach out my hand to you,
I'll have faith in all you do
Just call my name and I'll be there

Chorus:
And oh - I'll be there to comfort you,
Build my world of dreams around you
I'm so glad that I found you
I'll be there with a love that's strong
I'll be your strength, I'll keep holding on
Yes I will, yes I will

Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, well that's all I'm after
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be there to protect you
With an unselfish love I respect you
Just call my name and I'll be there

(Chorus)

If you should ever find someone new
I know he'd better be good to you
'Cos if he doesn't, I'll be there

Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there

(Just look over your shoulders, honey - ooh)

I'll be there, I'll be there, whenever you need me, I'll be there

Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there...

"The Way You Make Me Feel"

2nd Verse:
"I like the feelin' you're givin' me, Just hold me baby and I'm in ecstasy. Oh I'll be working nine to five, To buy you things to keep you by my side. I never felt so in love before just promise baby, you'll love me forevermore, I swear I'm keeping you satisfied 'Cause your the one for me."
Chorus:
"The way you make me feel, it really turns me on, you knock me off of my feet now baby, my lonely days are gone."

This song resonates on so many levels with me. Sure, there are the obvious songs that everyone can look at of his and see that he was talking about this or that. However, I feel this song and many others reflect something much deeper than what is shown in the video. This song blatantly screams to me of a lonely man who desperately craves the attention and love from his fans. I feel like we (the fans) filled a void in his heart where someone close should have been. Every song he wrote, was written and delivered with such love and passion that it really didn't matter the subject he was the true essence of the human struggle, nature , condition, and psyche. As far as observing his mind at work anyone can watch his early videos and would instantly know that he was a creative genius inside and out.

Michael Jackson's Song "Human Nature" reveals every aspect of human kind and their behaviour.
"This is it" is beautifully filmed documentary that makes abundantly clear that Michael Jackson was still at the height of his singing, dancing and creative powers when he died. Just as affecting are the rare, better-late-than-never look at his exacting, perceptive creative process, and his humanity in dealing with colleages. The DVD will be great, but the theater is the place to experience this loving tribute to a fallen master.

---I'm really into this song because when listening to it i feel that the song was directed towards me myself. I'm the type of person that is always willing to help and i tend to put other people needs in front of my own. From childhood i've always wanted my name to be well known by kids, abults, and many other people and so far I feel that I'm accomplishing just that.Speaking on hunger issues, i feel that many people take food, education, clothes and alot more material things for granted, wanting to help the small community that i'm from i alway donate clothing and things that i know that i will never use again to someone that needes it more than me. Michael Jackson really opened the eyes of alot of people, young and old, and basically stated that something has to be done about this situation and it as to be quick!

Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" contains lyrics that represent the human condition. Verses like "I'm gonna make a change/ for once in my life/ it's gonna feel real good/ gonna make a difference gonna make it right..." represents the human condition because it is about making a change to what we can be. Another verse from the same song, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror / I'm asking him to change his ways". I can picture him thinking, "Why am I this way?"

The song "Human Nature" is a very accurate representation of exactly that- human nature. "Tell em that is human nature." In this song he is talking about he is who he is and he will do what he wants.

"Black or White" represents the human struggle. I think in this song he is exploring the meaning of existence as well as the struggle for equality and acceptance of all. "It don't matter if you're black or white... See, it's not about the races". I think his psyche makes an appearance in the song as well - the potential to overcome all odds.

"You Are Not Alone" has the lyrics "Another day has gone, I;m still all alone... someone tell me why did you have to go and leave my world so cold." This is human struggle because in this song Michael is exhibiting his emotions and has questions he wants answered.

From the documentary "This is It" I could distinguish differences in his emotions and attitudes. At times he seemed out of it, but only when he was singing and dancing did he look so full of life.

" Beat It" Is probably my favorite song of Micheal's. I have several different reasons for this. First of all I love the sound of it. It's heavier and faster then a lot of his works and this plays more closely to my personal tastes. The guitar solo in the song is awesome. It was originally done by the great Eddie Van Halen but the girl form "This is It" does a great job at replicating and putting her own spin on it. The main reason I favor this song however is because of it lyrics.

"They're out to get you, better leave while you can
Don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man
You wanna stay alive, better do what you can
So beat it, just beat it

You have to show them that you're really not scared
You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll kick you, then they beat you,
Then they'll tell you it's fair
So beat it, but you wanna be bad"

It really demonstrates the struggle that many men go through. Most guys want to get that tough image and are willing to go to great lengths to achieve it. I think what Michael is saying through out this song that in many cases that persona isn't necessary. He's trying to say that there are many more things that define a man then being tough ot thought of as "bad". As much as it feels good sometimes to be thought of as strong or fearless there are more important things.

Michael Jackson
I am not about to list the tons of lyrics that come to mind. One it would take forever. Most of them have been posted by classmates already. He touched so many people in so many different ways.
I grew up with Michael Jackson and remember his transformation from one of the Jackson 5 to becoming his own person. That is something that is hard to do and hard for others to listen and understand. He was very emotional in the lyrics and choreography the videos used. I feel through these methods was the only way f or people to really see and feel what he was feeling. If people really listen and watch they could relate to his emotions. Some lyrics that stand out are “I’m Mad”, “It don’t matter if you’re black or white” and “Just Beat It”. I recall many of his songs that show the changes in his life and personality. So many trends were set by him, the dances, clothes, and slogans. Many people are too proud or scared of what others will think to admit that they thought he was a great artist. He expressed feelings that many of us try to hide. I think he was really hurting inside and needed people to understand. But when one has these feeling from such a young age no one will truly understand. His work was never black or white. There is always the “grey area”. He covered all areas of distinction. If he had not been in such a spot light as a child I think his entire life would have been different. Sure he would still be an artist but with different emotions. His body language tells a story. You don’t just listen you must also watch. I have tried to include both answers within this one summary of my ideas about Michael Jackson.

1) Micheal Jackson in this song really shows how much of a humanitarian he is. In this song Jackson implements all five of the
humanity sub-topics.

2) Jackson in his final documentary really let us, as fans, into what truly makes him tick. This genius of an artist truly has a passion to help people and to deliver his music exactly as he envisions. Jackson truly strives to explain his point-of-view as an artist pertaining to all the unfortunate things impeding us as a human race.

1. The song "Man in the Mirror" by Micheal Jackson is really beautiful to me. In the lyrics he is saying how he wants to help people in need, and how they need to be helped. He calls out human behavior in these lyrics, and says that people should help the less-fortunate. Even though he was a very wealthy man, he was not greedy and gave so much to the sick and poor.
2. Michael Jackson had such an amazing spirit. Even though people were cruel to him in the media, he still continued on with what he loved. He never gave up, and was so passionate about what he did to the very end.

This is It
1)The song that really resonated to me the most was Beat It, because it's about avoiding violence. The lyrics say that it's time to grow up from a boy to a man, and beat it, as in leave it be and just walk away from violence. I've had a guy assault me for no reason at all, and i tried to walk away. It's not always easy but you have to do what you can, walking away is always the better judgment and mostly the person walking away is the better man.

2) Michael's spirit and heart was at it's peak. He was giving this performance everything he had left in him. He was alive, and determined to make his come back in the world. You can see through the movie that Michael's passion for his work is far beyond that of any other artist around.

Man In The Mirror lyrics
Songwriters: Ballard, Glen; Garrett, Siedah;

Ooh ooh ooh aah
Gotta make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right

As I turned up the collar on
A favorite winter coat
This wind is blowin' my mind
I see the kids in the street
With not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer's disregard
A broken bottle top
And a one man's soul
They follow each other
On the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change, yey
Na na na, na na na, na na na na oh ho

I've been a victim of
A selfish kinda love
It's time that I realize
There are some with no home
Not a nickel to loan
Could it be really pretending that they're not alone

A willow deeply scarred
Somebody's broken heart
And a washed out dream
(Washed out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that change

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror, oh yeah)
I'm asking him to change his ways, yeah
(Change)
No message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change
You gotta get it right, while you got the time
'Cause when you close your heart
(You can't close your, your mind)
Then you close your mind

(That man, that man, that man)
(That man, that man, that man)
(With the man in the mirror, oh yeah)
(That man you know, that man you know)
(That man you know, that man you know)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Change)
No message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself then make that change

(Na na na, na na na, na na na na)
Ooh
Oh yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(Na na na, na na na, na na na na)

Oh no
Oh no, I'm gonna make a change
It's gonna feel real good
Sure mon
(Change)
Just lift yourself
You know, you got to stop it yourself
(Yeah)
Oh
Make that change
(I gotta make that change today, oh)
(Man in the mirror)
You got to, you got to not let yourself, brother oh
Yeah
You know that
(Make that change)
(I gotta make that make me then make)
You got, you got to move
Sure mon, sure mon
You got to
(Stand up, stand up, stand up)
Make that change
Stand up and lift yourself, now
(Man in the mirror)
Make that change
(Gonna make that change, sure mon)
(Man in the mirror)
You know it, you know it, you know it, you know
(Change)
Make that change

I love this song by Micheal Jackson and I think it demonstrates human struggle, and human condition. Everybody is always talking about how to change the world and trying to tell somebody else how they should live their life. But no one wants to take the necessary steps to making the world better. And I absolutely agree that you should work on yourself before you try to change anybody else. When I first heard this song i was so moved because I had never thought about it in this light before. I felt where he was coming from and I understood the message he was trying to convey. You have to change yourself before you can deal with the worlds issues. Even if its a small change, its still a change.

Michael Jackson is a true artist is every sense of the word. His music is so timeless that he can not be compared to anyone else. Some of his songs like "Human Nature", "Man in the Mirror", "I'll be there" cause me to get in touch with mankind and reminds me of what is going on in the world around us. Other songs such as "Beat it", "I'm Bad", and "Thriller" are good dance songs and liven up a party. "ABC" is one of my earlier favorties and I have a ball singing it with my kids. In everything that Michael did he did it fo the love of people and their enjoyment of his entertainment. He had so much to give and is truely missed in the entertainment world.

This song by Michael Jackson is about changing ones human behavior. He speaks about treating the earth better so that our children's children will be able to enjoy its vast wonders and beauty.

I also saw Michael Jackson's "This Is It" and the movie showed me the true nature of Michael Jackson. The media always portrayed him as something he wasn't and it was refreshing to see him as he was; a true caring person who was selfless and put everything he had in his music so that he could bring joy to others.

If They Say -

She Likes The Way I Stare

The entire songs touches my feelings. This song clearly speaks about the nature of human. The beating of the city that is the city follows its own nature. This song also sys the stare of a guy to the girl and the girl like the way he watches gain the nature of human nature. Michael Jackson clearly understood the human nature. I. personally would like to say that he successfully reflects the human nature in this song.Whenever I hear the song, I can feel the same thing that I face in such condition. In other words the verses reflects my nature and feelings.

Micheal Jackson is the number one entertainer of the century. He is the perfect example of being a true versatile artist.I saw some parts of " This is it" and I learned about his efforts more than i knew before. The movie shows that how much effort and intellectual works are stirred to produce a songs. Michael Jackson is unique by himself because he tries to make everything perfect therefore uses his maxims to reach that goal which is definitely the key point of his success. His artistry most of the time deals with human nature and condition that makes people to discover themselves in his work of art.

I normally do not listen to michael jackson very often but, this song is one of my favorites. Throughout the entire song his lyrics are filled with a message and meaning. Michael talks about all kinds of human struggle from starvation to being self centered. He is also delivering a message that says we need to help others in need whenever possible.

You can tell just by listening to Michael Jackson's songs that he puts himself into every single verse. His beliefs and morals can be seen in his songs as well. Almost all of his songs deliver a message of some sort.

"Black or White"

I chose the Michael Jackson song "Black or White."

I Took My Baby
On A Saturday Bang
Boy Is That Girl With You
Yes We're One And The Same

Now I Believe In Miracles
And A Miracle
Has Happened Tonight

But, If
You're Thinkin'
About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

They Print My Message
In The Saturday Sun
I Had To Tell Them
I Ain't Second To None

And I Told About Equality
An It's True
Either You're Wrong
Or You're Right

But, If
You're Thinkin'
About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

I Am Tired Of This Devil
I Am Tired Of This Stuff
I Am Tired Of This Business
Sew When The
Going Gets Rough
I Ain't Scared Of
Your Brother
I Ain't Scared Of No Sheets
I Ain't Scare Of Nobody
Girl When The
Goin' Gets Mean

[L. T. B. Rap Performance]
Protection
For Gangs, Clubs
And Nations
Causing Grief In
Human Relations
It's A Turf War
On A Global Scale
I'd Rather Hear Both Sides
Of The Tale
See, It's Not About Races
Just Places
Faces
Where Your Blood
Comes From
Is Where Your Space Is
I've Seen The Bright
Get Duller
I'm Not Going To Spend
My Life Being A Color

[Michael]
Don't Tell Me You Agree With Me
When I Saw You Kicking Dirt In My Eye

But, If
You're Thinkin' About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

I Said If
You're Thinkin' Of
Being My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

I Said If
You're Thinkin' Of
Being My Brother
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White

Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now
Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now

It's Black, It's White
It's Tough For You
To Get By
It's Black , It's White, Whoo

It's Black, It's White
It's Tough For You
To Get By
It's Black , It's White, Whoo

I think this song resembles the struggle that the different races had in the world. I feel that this song is trying to let the world know that there is no difference between us just because our skin is a different color. We should not be treated any differently because we are different races; we should all be treated as one in the same.

2. I saw the movie "This Is It" and it was one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. I loved how it portrayed him and his character. It's amazing that he had so much energy to still be able to do all that he did to prepare for that tour. Michael saw everyone as a person and not a race and treated everyone the same. I loved how he gave the different people thier place on the stage as well to show off thier ability to sing, play guitar, or dance.

See that girl, she knows I'm watching
She likes the way I stare

If they say, why, why? Tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why does he do me that way?
If they say, why, why? Tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why does he do me that way?
I like livin' this way, I like lovin' this way

Looking out across the morning
The city's heart begins to beat
Reaching out, I touch her shoulder
I'm dreaming of the street

If they say, why, why? Tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why does he do me that way?
If they say, why, why? Ooh, tell 'em
Why, why does he do me that way?
If they say, why, why? Cha cha cha
Why, why does he do me that way?
If they say why, why, why? Ooh, tell 'em
Why, why does he do me that way?

If they say, why, why? Ooh, tell 'em
Why, why does he do me that way?
If they say, why, why? Da da da
Why, why does he do me that way?
I like livin' this way

This song shows the doubts that everyone feels. The decisions that we make to go outside and see the world and the people in it. It also tells of how people have their own natures and that they can’t always be understood. At the same time, it tells of how even when people are intimidated by something, they are fascinated by it.

Personally I was not a fan of Michaels, however I am a fan of the lead vocalist of Queen, Freddie Mercury. They both sung a song title "More to life than this" that never made it to a recording album. The lyric is sad and expresses both singer tire of their style of life, and human struggle. When they both decided to this song Freddie had been diagnosed with Aids so is a song about reflection of life. Personally I think Michael was not satisfied with his life, I think he missed to much of life as a child and it showed in his songs.

"They don't really care about us"

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
Beat me, hate me
You can never break me
Will me, thrill me
You can never kill me

The two songs I chose to talk about are Man in the Mirror and They don't care about us. I love Man in the mirror because it teaches us about caring for others all over the world. ths video shows human struggle as many of us try to ignore it.We know people in our persoanl life that fit one or more of the situations he shows in this video. I also chose to talk about is they don't care about us. this song speaks differences regardless of what you look like or where you come from. This song reaches children who feel different who feel left out and adults who have given up in life. this song teaches us that we will over come, not to let anyone break you down. He states you will never break me and that is something I live by. No matter what people say or think about me they will never keep me from being me.

Michael Jackson is truly a real entertainer. His music comes from his heart and soul. His video are different, very created, expressive, and goes directly along with his lyrics in his songs. He will be missed in generationns to come.
MJ gone but never forgotten.

ou better run, you better do what you can
Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man
You wanna be tough, better do what you can
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it

They're out to get you, better leave while you can
Don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man
You wanna stay alive, better do what you can
So beat it, just beat it

You have to show them that you're really not scared
You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll kick you, then they beat you,
Then they'll tell you it's fair
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it

Beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or who's right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it
